As Der Landbote reports, EHC Winterthur will not be able to count on Michel Grolimund and Philipp Aerni for the 2016-17 season, as they will no longer play in the NLB next season due to professional reasons.

Forward Yannic Celio, on the other hand, has not found back to his old self, after he had recovered from a torn cruciate ligament and will thus also not be on Winterthur's roster next season. He is currently out with a concussion.

They will also in all likeliness no longer be able to count on Tim Wieser and Fabio Haller, who are ending the season with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds and EV Zug respectively. As for defenseman Xeno Büsser, this decision is up to the Kloten Flyers, where he was under contract this season. Contract negotiations are still ongoing with Fabian Hurter, Thomas Mettler and Timon Vesely.

In other news, Anthony Staiger will play for HC Ajoie in the playoffs, Gian-Andrea Thöny for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and Nigel Wollgast will join HC Lugano. Oehninger, Steinauer, Studer, Hartmann, Gähler and Hoffmann will practice with the Kloten Flyers starting next week, as the Flyers are in possession of their B-licenses.

Moreover, still according to the same source, EHC Winterthur plans to increase their share capital by CHF 150,000. However, for now, even with a bigger budget, they do not plan on hiring import-players for the upcoming season. (mso)
