"It's to 99.9 % a done deal", says the 38-year-old forward, who had still hoped two weeks ago that HC La Chaux-de-Fonds would reconsider their decision and activate his option after all. However, it now looks as if he has come to terms with the end of his career as a professional hockey player.

Neininger just finished his 20th professional season, his 14th with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. Over the course of his career, he has played in more than 1000 NLB games. In 51 games this season, he has scored 22 goals and 21 assists. (mso)

UPDATE Michael Neiniger has officially signed with HC Saint-Imier for the next season and will serve as player-coach for the team. (mso) - 04 March 2016, 6:56 PM
