The 24-year-old defenseman played four years of NCAA hockey for the Ohio State University, before spending a season with the ECHL team Colorado Eagles. Last season, he scored 26 goals and 29 assists for Stjernen. His contract will run through 2018.

The signing of Gedig also means that Shayne Wiebe will no longer be part of EHC Olten. The 26-year-old center has played 52 games for Olten, scoring 19 goals and 24 assists. (mso)
