KHL - As one can read on Watson, former Swiss national team's head coach Sean Simpson, who was recently fired by KHL's Lokomotiv Yaroslavl after only nine games, seems to have received a $1.8 million pay-off from the club.

$1.8 million for a total of nine games or $200,000 per game - that might be the highest salary ever a coach has earned in the world history of ice hockey, as Watson reckoned up.

Simpson had signed a two-year contract with the KHL-club at the beginning of the year, but was released (together with his assistant coach Colin Muller) on September 27 after only nine points out of the first nine games of the season.

The 53-year-old Canadian has meanwhile returned to Switzerland and is currently without a new coaching job.
