As the Tribune de Genève reports, Genève-Servette HC will sign Nathan Gerbe. The forward had already signed a deal with the Grenats this summer, which was then dissolved when he signed with the New York Rangers.

Chris McSorley for his part did not yet confirm the signing. In fact, he told the newspaper that they are still looking at three candidates, namely Gerbe, Marc-Antoine Pouliot (HC Fribourg-Gottéron) and former Minnesota Wild player Justin Fontaine, who has been released from his PTO with the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

Anyways, according to the Tribune de Genève, several sources from North America have already confirmed that the 1.63m tall forward will join the Grenats for the rest of the season. Moreover, as RTS backs this news later the day referring to a source close to the club, Genève-Servette HC has indeed signed Nathan Gerbe as replacement for Santorelli.

Because he did not make the New York Rangers' roster out of training camp and opted not to report to their AHL-affiliate team in Hartford, Gerbe was finally put on waivers yesterday for the purpose of contract termination (one-year, $600,000 deal).

In the past eight years, Nathan Gerbe suited up in a total of 394 NHL games for the Buffalo Sabres and most recently the Carolina Hurricanes, in which he managed to put up 58 goals and 80 assists for 138 points.
