HC Davos' president Gaudenz Domenig confirmed to the same source that both players will not be able to attend the game. "Reto does not have time and we cannot force Jan to attend the ceremony," Domenig adds. Nonetheless, no other Davos player will be allowed to have the number 78 or 83 on his jersey in the future.
The two brothers joined Davos in 1995 and played there until the end of their careers in 2015. For one season in 2001, however, Reto von Arx tried his luck in North America but returned to Davos one year later. Overall, both of them could hoist the Swiss Championship trophy six times.
