According to the Corriere del Ticino (relayed by HeShootsHeScoores), HC Lugano will likely not extend Tony Mårtensson's contract. But they would like to lure former SC Bern player Cory Conacher back to Switzerland and are also interested in signing HC Ambrì-Piotta's Jason Fuchs.

Mårtensson (picture) joined Lugano in 2015 and his contract expires at the end of the season. Thus far, the 36-year-old Swede has played 76 games for the Bianconeri and scored 24 goals and 41 assists.

According to the same source, signing Cory Conacher for the upcoming season is currently a priority for Lugano. Conacher left SC Bern this summer and signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. However, the 26-year-old Canadian forward has only played one game in the NHL thus far and was recently reassigned to the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Moreover, in addition to the ZSC Lions' Luca Cunti and HC Fribourg-Gottéron's Andrei Bykov, the Bianconeri have reportedly also cast an eye on HC Ambrì-Piotta's center Jason Fuchs. The 21-year-old has put up eleven points (seven goals, four assists) in 20 games for the Biancoblù this season thus far.

At the same time, HC Lugano's team manager Roland Habsireutinger will also have a close look at the situation surrounding their former defenseman Calle Andersson, who played in Lugano during the 2014-15 season. The 22-year-old was put on unconditional waivers two days ago and his contract with the New York Rangers will likely be terminated.
