As EHC Biel's team manager Martin Steinegger tells Journal de Jura journalist Laurent Kleisl (relayed by SwissHabs), they have already received 25 applications for the vacant head coaching position.

Among the people who sent in their CVs are Bengt-Åke Gustafsson, Serge Pelletier, René Matte, Benoît Laporte and Lars Leuenberger (photo). The latter had already made his interest known on Monday, only hours after Kevin Schläpfer had been relieved of his duties. The team plans to make a decision by Sunday.

Bengt-Åke Gustafsson, for his part, has also submitted his application to HC Ambrì-Piotta. The same applies to former EHC Olten coach Heikki Leime, as Blick reports. However, HCAP's team manager Ivano Zanatta has told the Neue Luzerner Zeitung that Hans Kossmann will stay and definitely coach the Biancoblù on Friday.
