NLA - In an interview with 24 heures, Lausanne HC's Colby Genoway spoke about his position within the team and the future direction of his career. A possible departure from Malley after this season seems not be ruled out.

Indeed, it was not an easy season for the Canadian so far. Sidelined with a ligament injury since April last year, Genoway was not able to make his 2014-15 season debut before the middle of November. Since then, he has come to only 20 appearences, including five playoff-games (1 goal, 5 assists). Most of the time the 31-year-old had to cope with the role as supernumerary import-player behind Hytönen, Bång, Pesonen and Louhivaara.

Genoways contract with Lausanne HC is still valid through the 2015-16 season. However, when asked about his future and if he considers a possible departure, the Canadian gave some first hints: "I will ask myself these questions once the season is over," he said. "But what is clear for me, at 31, that I don't want to be the spare wheel for another year. I certainly would like to spend another year here, but on the ice. Therefore, I think I will have discussions with Alston [LHC's team manager] after the Playoffs." (rlu)
