After the Resega in Lugano and the Tissot Arena in Biel, Lausanne HC's Malley has become the third ice rink in Switzerland which has implemented acryl-based plexiglass instead of the commonly used glass.

According to 24 heures, the glass-replacement was mainly requested and forced by LHC's Finnish forward Juha-Pekka Hytönen as well as the fact that a total of twelve players of the team have sustained a concussion last season.

The new acryl-based plexiglas is more flexible than the old one and has the ability to cushion shocks in a much better way. It should thus lead to a better protection of the players with the main goal to decrease the number of injuries in the upper part of the body.

As one can also read in today's edition of 24 heures, Lausanne HC's merchandising sector is running like a charm. Last season, the club was able to sell jerseys, scarves and other various other fan items for not less than CHF 250,000.

Furthermore, in view of the upcoming season, Lausanne HC will play with a total of four different jerseys. In addition to the traditional home and away jersey, the club has designed a special one for the upcoming three derbies against Genève-Servette HC at Malley, as well as a vintage-version for an opportunity which has yet to be defined.
