HC Ambrì-Piotta's Michael Flückiger, who has not been able to play in a single NLA game this season due to a hip injury he sustained in the preseason, hopes that he will get a new contract for the upcoming season.

"A return to the ice this season would be very difficult, if Ambrì will not qualify for the playoff final", tells the 31-year-old goaltender Ticinonline laughingly. "I think it is more realistic to think about the next year. Of course I hope to find an agreement in the NLA, but we will see what offers will be presented to me. With such a severe injury behind me, it will not be easy."

Flückiger's contract expires at the end of this season. He joined the Biancoblù in 2014, but has since then only appeared in 13 games for them, posting a .890 save percentage. (mso)
