The ZSC Lions have signed the Swedish forward Mattias Sjögren to a two-year contract. Sjögren, who played for the Russian team AK Bars Kazan of the KHL last year, will, therefore, stay in Zurich until spring of 2018.

Initially, the Blick reported that Sjögren might join HC Davos. The 28-year-old center would have had one more year left on his contract in Russia. However, they were reportedly not happy with his performance during his first year in the KHL.

Last season, Sjögren, who has spent most of his career playing in the SHL, appeared in 61 KHL games for AK Bars Kazan and managed to score six goals and 13 assists for a total of 19 points. (bsc)
