As EHC Biel's team manager Martin Steinegger said to Le Matin, a solution will be found over the course of the day. Now, Daniel Steiner's contract with Biel has been dissolved and the 32-year-old forward was free to sign with HC Fribourg-Gottéron for the rest of the season. He will therefore be eligible to play for Gottéron in today's road game against EHC Kloten.
The 36-year-old forward signed a one-week tryout contract with the Dragons on December 12. Over the course of the week he was able to convince Gottéron's staff.
