The Swedish forward has made an impression with HC Davos at the Spengler Cup. But so far, HC Lugano does not let him leave.

HCD's CEO Marc Gianola confirms to the Südostschweiz that they have asked Lugano after the Spengler Cup about the possibility of acquiring Klasen. The Bianconeri, however, refused HCD's request.

With the injury of their defenseman Magnus Nygren, the focus of HC Davos has changed anyway. "Now, we probably need a defender," Gianola says to the same source. The option of signing their Spengler Cup reinforcement Bobby Sanguinetti, however, is off the table. He joins the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.

As for Linus Klasen, also the ZSC Lions are apparently interested in adding Lugano's forward to their team, 20 Minuten writes. After the departure of American forward Drew Shore to the KHL, team manager Sven Leuenberger is still looking for a creative import-center.
