RTS's Marc-André Berset already reported back in June that Almond would join Lausanne HC on a three-year deal as of the 2019-20 season. A deal he had supposedly already signed in February 2018. Over a year has passed since then, now the deal is official.

Since Cody Almond arrived in Switzerland 2012, he has only ever played for Genève-Servette HC. In 248 games for them, he recorded 64 goals and 95 assists.

Fabian Heldner, for his part, will leave the Landwassertal and join the Lions until the end of the 2020-21 season. The Südostschweiz already indicated back in January that the defender would all likeliness sign with Lausanne HC. In 49 regular season games, the 22-year-old recorded nine assists for HC Davos.
