The Czech forward's one-year deal includes, however, an NHL out clause that expires on June 25.

"It's probably no secret that I signed a contract with Zug. It includes an out clause, but nothing interesting has come up yet. There was something, but it ended up falling through, but that's the way it is. Now, I am looking forward to Zug," Kovář tells isport.cz.

Team manager Reto Kläy already told Ticinonline back in May that they had taken an interest in the Czech forward. Since then, the speculations about his future have run high. But, beware any concrete offer from an NHL team which "wants Kovář at any cost", he will now play in Zug next season.

The 29-year-old forward started the 2018-19 season with the Providence Bruins in the AHL (four goals, six assists in twelve games). He joined HC Plzeň at the beginning of December and went on to record seven goals and 26 assists in 28 regular season games.
