The SCL Tigers were on the brink of not being able to play their first game of the season against Genève-Servette HC.

Worn down by food poisoning: The SCL Tigers.

On Friday, the Tigers lost their season opener against Geneva 1-3. Klaus Zaugg (Aargauer Zeitung) now reveals that they were not at their best due to a food poisoning they caught after the Cup game against the GCK Lions. They already informed the league about a possible request to postpone the game against GSHC.

But as all the players turned up to practice the day before the game, they decided that it was possible for them to play. As team manager Marco Bayer says to Zaugg, the food poisoning does not count as an excuse for the 1-3 loss: "We've had enough chances to win the game."
