The defenseman wants to keep playing after this season. If talks with SC Bern go south, his former club would welcome him back.

Beat Gerber has only been under contract with two clubs throughout his career so far - his current one, Bern (since 2003), and his youth club, the SCL Tigers. His most recent deal expires coming spring. On the off-chance that things do not work out in regards to an extension with SCB, Langnau would be open to a return, as Watson's Klaus Zaugg writes.

Apparently, the Tigers have contacted Gerber each time his contract was up. It will be the same this time around. "I will inquire with him about his plans", team manager Marc Eichmann states.

The player himself would also not be completely averse to a return. "Never say never", the 39-year-old mentions when questioned about it.
