The 27-year-old defenseman technically has one year left on his contract with SC Bern, but it looks like he will leave the capital city.

According to the Corriere del Ticino, HC Lugano and Calle Andersson have agreed to a three-year contract. The Swede would thus stay with the Bianconeri until the end of the 2024-25 season. As per the newspaper, the team will not officialize the signing before the end of their playoff run.

However, team manager Andrew Ebbett only confirmed to the Berner Zeitung that they are in talks with the Bianconeri and that they intend to find a solution for Andersson.

RSI's Omar Gargantini already reported last week that there were rumblings that Andersson might play for HC Lugano as of next season. The defender already played for HCL in the 2014-15 season, albeit for only 30 games (five goals and twelve assists).
