After two seasons with HC Ajoie, Joël Aebi is going to take up his studies of medicine again this fall, the same source reports. He will thus leave the Ajoulots and retire from professional hockey despite a valid contract for the upcoming season.

HC Ajoie thus has to find a new goaltender for the new season, who is going to support starting goaltender Tim Wolf.

Joël Aebi, who started his hockey career in SC Bern's youth organization, has appeared in twelve games last season, in which he posted a save percentage of 90.6%.
