"The Russians have declined the invitation and it is not yet clear which team will fill in," EHC Visp's CEO Sébastien Pico confirms to Klaus Zaugg (Watson). Nevertheless, the tournament (from December 14 to 18) is still on: "We assume that the tournament will take place and will start selling tickets in three weeks," Pico says. Also invited are Norway and Slovakia.
The Swiss national team is also set to take part in this year's Deutschland Cup from November 5 to 8. The SIHF is currently in contact with the organizers to create the safest possible conditions, Lars Weibel, Director of National Teams says: "But of course we take the situation very seriously and the health of players and staff is always our top priority."
