The current health crisis puts Swiss hockey clubs in financial trouble and this might also concern the players: "I assume we're paying April's salaries in full," EHC Biel's CEO Daniel Villard says to the Bieler Tagblatt. "What comes after that will be very much a question of economics."

EV Zug's CEO Patrick Lengwiler tells Zentralplus that they have not yet decided how to handle the salaries of their players after April, but: "How can I explain in all seriousness to one of our catering employees that from May he will probably only earn 80 percent, while the better-off professionals won't have to give up anything?"

Salary cuts might thus be necessary, not just at EHC Biel's, but the players would have to give their consent for that. "League Director Denis Vaucher has been appointed by the clubs to conduct initial talks with the players' association," Daniel Villard reveals to the Bieler Tagblatt.
