The Finnish defenseman signed a deal until November 3 with the Bianconeri, who now have five imports under contract.

In their press statement, HC Lugano describes Ohtamaa as "a solid defender, with strong defensive qualities, physically strong and with leadership skills". During the last season, Ohtamaa was the captain of Kärpät Oulu (26 points) and was also a member of the Finnish national team that won the gold medal at the World Championship. As Patrick Della Valle (Teleticino) reveals, the defenseman was able to join HC Lugano despite a contract valid until 2023 with his formative club, thanks to a clause in his contract.

In his career, the 31-year-old played in the Liiga and in the KHL, winning two Finnish championships with Kärpät Oulu, and one Gagarin Cup with Ak Bars Kazan.
