National League

The contract of the 22-year-old forward will expire at the end of the season. Several teams, among them the Bears, are interested in him.

What will it be for Riat, National League or North America?

Riat reveals to the Journal du Jura that he has several options in Switzerland and that he already had some discussions - also some regarding a contract extension with EHC Biel.

Damien Riat has just returned from Washington, where he was taking part in the Washington Capitals training camp. The forward, of course, also dreams about a future in the NHL: "At some point, I will take my chance. But for that, I'll first have to see if Washington offers me something."

The Capitals have time until June 30, 2020, the same day his deal with EHC Biel expires, to make him an offer. After that, Riat will be an unrestricted free agent and can technically be signed by any NHL team, unless, as pointed out by Eliteprospect, they put Riat's status to one of a defected player.
