National League

The extraordinary league assembly took place at Ittigen this morning.

League hopes to have spectators again on March 17

Denis Vaucher, Director National League & Swiss League, revealed that play will be suspended until and including March 15. This impacts the start of the National League playoffs as well as the Swiss League playoff semifinal series.

At the U20 and U17 levels play will continue but only in accordance with the Federal Council's ban. If the ban will be lifted, the National League playoffs will start on March 17. With that starting date, the series would be played in its original length (Best-Of-7) but that can all change. There will be another league assembly on March 13.

The Federal Council decided last Friday to introduce a ban on all events with over 1,000 spectators until at least March 15. This, of course, majorly impacted all sporting events, including games of the National League, the Swiss League, and the MySports League last weekend, as they all had to play in empty arenas.
