"We have decided that we only want players on our team who will stay with us for the whole season," Leuenberger explains to the Tages-Anzeiger. "Everything else would be difficult for the team structure. Then players we count on later in the season would have to sit out at the beginning. We don't want that."
But what about Tim Berni, who will leave Zurich in November for Columbus? "This is another case," Leuenberger says. "If he doesn't make it to the NHL, he wouldn't play in the AHL, but return to us."
But there is also another reason why Suter will not play for ZSC: the prospect of an additional import-player in the line-up. If they actually needed a reinforcement then probably in goal or in defense - and not in offense. If there were several injuries among forwards, however, Suter might become an option.
