However, apparently, HC Ajoie is not the only team interested in acquiring Phil Varone from Lausanne HC. The 30-year-old forward was a healthy scratch in the last two games, as the Lions had not really been satisfied with the performance of the Canadian (one goal in six games).
Varone is, however, not the only player of Lausanne HC who has garnered interest in the last couple of weeks. Joël Genazzi has also been a hot topic of discussion. Disciplined by his coaches in the game on October 2, he has not been in the lineup ever since.
SC Bern contacted LHC about the defenseman and, according to Klaus Zaugg (Watson), other teams also showed interest in him. As 24 heures reports today, his case seems to be a mysterious one, though. Apparently, rumors about a departure as well as a contract extension with LHC have been flying around.
The man in question, however, remains tight-lipped about his situation: "I will comment on my situation soon. Thank you for understanding." As for his immediate future, Genazzi might return to Lausanne HC's lineup for the CHL game against the Adler Mannheim on Wednesday. "I think it would be a good time to bring him back if he feels ready," head coach John Fust stated.
