HC Davos had made it quite clear at the beginning of this season that they would no longer count on Robert Mayer despite the fact that his contract would have been valid until the end of the 2023-24 season.
Mayer was eventually loaned to the SCL Tigers in late September and will stay there at least until the end of January. There had been rumblings for quite a while that his former team, Genève-Servette HC, was interested in acquiring him for the 2022-23 season.
Those have now confirmed: the goaltender has signed a two-year contract with them valid until the end of the 2023-24 season.
