Justin Abdelkader, who ended the season with EV Zug last year, will be available to head coach Chris McSorley once he has passed all his medical tests and has received his work permit.
The American forward has not played much this season. He signed a PTO with the Grand Rapid Griffins at the end of January and was released from it when he was named to the Americans' Olympic roster. He appeared in three games for the AHL team and in one game for Team USA, recording one goal.
