Looking ahead to the postseason, the Lions reinforced themselves with the 30-year-old Finnish defenseman.

Jokerit Helsinki

A product of the organization of Jokerit Helsinki and a member of their main squad since 2017, Tommi Kivistö will continue his career in Switzerland with the ZSC Lions. A deal became possible when Jokerit Helsinki withdrew from the current KHL championship, ending their season.

"Tommi is a tough two-way defenseman with a good first pass. With a view to the playoffs, he is our insurance for the defense" explains Sven Leuenberger, the team manager of the Lions.

This season, Kivistö recorded 13 points in 43 games with Jokerit and figured in the extended squad of the Finnish national team at this year's Olympic games.
