Both forwards have agreed to a two-year contract with the Lakers, valid until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Nicklas Jensen will suit up for the Lakers until 2024.
Jokerit Helsinki

Nicklas Jensen and Jordan Schroeder both played for Jokerit Helsinki last season and they have occasionally played on the same line or been in the same powerplay unit. However, they had already known each other for a long time as they used to be in the same NHL organization.

Jensen, who was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks, suited up for Jokerit for the past five seasons. This season, he recorded 19 goals and 15 assists in 37 games for Jokerit.

Schroeder, too, is a former first-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks. He was drafted in 2009. This season, the 31-year-old put up eleven goals and 18 assists in 37 games.

Both players needed to look for a new team for the 2022-23 season, as Jokerit will not have a first team next season. They decided to exit from the KHL due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and will try to make a comeback in the Finnish Liiga come the 2023-24 season.
