Janick Steinmann, team manager of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, decided to add another import player to the team for several reasons, one being that the team will once again play in the Champions Hockey League next season and thus face a heavier work load.
Brett Connolly, who was part of the Washington Capitals roster that won the Stanley Cup, suited up for HC Lugano last season. In 45 regular-season games, he recorded twelve goals and 26 assists.
