As CEO Marc Lüthi tells Klaus Zaugg (Watson), their timetable is to be ready for 2030 with their new home.

Built in 1967, the current home of SC Bern, the PostFinance Arena, is the second-oldest arena in the National League, behind the ice rink of Genève-Servette HC. Renovation work was already carried out between 2008 and 2009, but now the club has to sit at a table and discuss the future of the PostFinance Arena again.

"The question is whether we should renovate or build a new stadium. We will make the fundamental decision in a few months," reveals Lüthi, who sets a timeline for the end of the works in 2030.

In the case of a renovation, many questions are open, for instance, what would happen with the largest standing area in ice hockey. In the case of a new stadium, a decision will also have to be made as to whether it should be built on municipal land or right next door on land belonging to the municipality of Ostermundigen.
