The Canadian defender decided to hang up his skates, the Linth Zeitung reports.

At 36 and with eleven seasons in the National League under his belt, Maxim Noreau played on Monday the last game of his career. In the last two seasons, the Canadian suited up for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

In Switzerland, throughout his career, Noreau played for HC Ambrì-Piotta (2011-14), SC Bern (2016-2018), the ZSC Lions (2018-2022), and lastly the Lakers. In 2017 he won the title with SC Bern while in 2018 he won an Olympic bronze medal. To his accolades, he adds four Spengler Cups with Team Canada. Overall, he scored 94 goals and put up 265 assists in 536 National League games.
