The champion of the Swiss League has decided not to play the League Qualification against the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

"Play the League Qualification merely for show is no option for us," SC Langenthal's CEO Gian Kämpf says. "In case of a promotion we would have to play our home games in another arena," he is sure.

The reason for the decision is the insufficient infrastructure. Only two days ago, the SIHF's league director Denis Vaucher confirmed that SC Langenthal's arena, the Schoren, does not meet the requirements of the National League and that the club would have to move to another arena to play in Switzerland's top league.

For this reason, SC Langenthal's board of directors calls on the political authorities and the City of Langenthal to push forward with the project of the new arena, so that the club will be able to play at the highest level in the future.
