Swiss League

The 32-year-old forward will work in the hotel industry from here on out.

"My retirement at this point of time was not planned, but it is still perfect timing," Raphael Kuonen, the captain of EHC Visp, tells the Walliser Bote.

Kuonen is a product of EHC Visp but only returned to the Swiss League team in 2021. Prior to that, he played for HC Sierre, HC Davos, the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, HC Lugano, and the SCL Tigers.

While Kuonen's future is thus clear, that of Fabian Eggenberger is not. Eggenberger would like to stay in Visp, but several other Swiss League teams are also interested. Yannick Brüschweiler, for his part, will not stay in Visp. He has one year left on his contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta and wants to establish himself in the National League.
