According to hockeysverige.se, the 27-year-old Swedish forward will leave Finland for either the KHL or the National League.

Erik Thorell will leave the Liiga.

Thorell comes from two seasons with HIFK, with which he scored 44 goals and put up 60 assists in 120 Liiga games. This season, he averaged 1.04 points per game, the second highest among players who appeared in at least 15 games.

He won a Swedish championship in 2011 with Färjestad BK, the club where he played his junior-years. He also won the World Juniors in 2012.
