In addition to Swedish forward Lucas Wallmark, the Lions seem to have found another import-player in Olympic champion Markus Granlund.

This is what Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reports, relying on his sources from Scandinavia. There is, however, no official confirmation yet.

The fact is that Markus Granlund's contract with the KHL's Salavat Yulaev Ufa, for which he suited up in the past two seasons, has expired and that he is looking for a new employer. The ZSC Lions currently only have two of six possible import-players locked up for the upcoming season (Justin Azevedo and Garrett Roe).

This season, the 29-year-old Granlund won the Olympic gold medal with Finland. Before he moved to the KHL in 2020, he had played in the NHL for seven seasons. In 338 games for Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton, he recorded 102 points (58 goals).
