HC Dynamo Pardubice, the leaders of the Extraliga and runner-up of the last edition of the Spengler Cup, have been invited to return to the tournament. The Czechs are the fifth team confirmed for the competition, joining hosts HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gottéron, and the Straubing Tigers. The sixth and last participant will be announced in the coming weeks.
