Sweden instead of Switzerland - Joel Persson returns to Växjo

After one season overseas, Joel Persson decided to return to the Växjo Lakers, where he played for two years before his North American adventure. As hockeysverige.se reported in March, Biel was also interested in the defenseman, but apparently does not seem to have been successful in their pursuit.

Last season, Persson first was part of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers and made 13 games for them, as well as 27 for their AHL-affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. In February, he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks, but only suited up for their farm team, the San Diego Gulls.
