IIHF Women's World Championship

The Canadian city has been chosen to host the tournament after the cancellation of the event initially planned in May in Nova Scotia.

The Swiss women's national team will be in Calgary in two months.

As announced by the IIHF, this year's edition of the women's world championships has found in Calgary a new home. The competition will take place, as already known, from August 20 to August 31.

Back in April, the government of Nova Scotia cancelled the event that was supposed to take place in Halifax and Truro from May 6 to May 16 due to concerns regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
