NLA - After long negotiations between Reto Suri’s agent and EVZ, Zug has finally included an NHL out-clause in his contract (valid until 2015), reports the Neue Luzerner Zeitung.

This clause does not come without conditions though. While Suri will be free to join an NHL franchise – likely the Tampa Bay Lightning – this summer, he has to honor the last year of his contract with EV Zug when he returns to Switzerland from now until 2017. Furthermore, should Suri come back during the course of a season, he has to finish that year with the EVZ at half of his salary and additionally fulfill the last full year of his contract afterwards.

The Swiss international has not yet signed this offer and has time until the Olympic break to decide if he wants to do so. The other possibility for the 24-year old forward would be to stay with EV Zug until his contract expires and then decide freely on his future in 2015.

Suri had already signed a 2-year two-way-contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning starting in 2014/15 last summer. But that contract had been voided because of a missing transfer agreement between the SIHF and the IIHF, that did not allow Suri to get out of his running contract with EVZ.
