At the end of last season, Andreas Nödl suffered a knee injury and had to undergo a surgery in March. In order to guarantee his rehabilitation, he won't be allowed to play matches before September 1.

Between 2008 and 2012, Nödl was under contract with the Philadelphia Flyers before he joined the Carolina Hurricanes and also played for the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL. He completed a total of 195 NHL-games, in which he scored 15 goals and 21 assists.
