With HC Ajoie defeating the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in Game 6 of the Playoff Finals and claiming the 2015-16 National League B Championship title, this year's League Qualification Series has officially been cancelled.

Because the Ajoulots have not handed in their application for a promotion to Switzerland's highest League, as a consequence, EHC Biel remains in the National League A despite having lost the Playout Final Series against the SCL Tigers with 4-2 recently.

For HC Ajoie, founded in 1973 and supposedly getting along with a yearly budget of around three million Swiss Francs currently, it is after 1988 and 1992 their third NLB Championship title in club history they can celebrate. In this sense: Hats off to Ajoie and "Bonne fête!" (rlu)
