Patrick Schommer, who played for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers last season, will join HC Red Ice. The 27-year-old forward has signed a one-year contract with his new team, which is valid until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Thus, the 27-year-old will stay in the NLB for another season. In the beginning of April, his former team announced that Schommer would not receive a new contract and would consequently have to find a new team. He played for the Lakers for two consecutive seasons.

After having recovered from a serious hip injury, Schommer joined the Lakers on loan in January of 2015. He then signed a new contract with them for their first season in the NLB. However, this past year was another injury-stricken one for Schommer. He only played 25 games for the Lakers, scoring two goals and seven assists. (bsc)
