As the ZSC Lions announce, they have extended the contract with their 38-year-old defender and captain Mathias Seger for another year. He will thus stay with the Lions until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Seger joined the Lions back in 1999 and has since then appeared in 970 games for them, scoring a total of 416 points. Over the course of his career, Seger has appeared in 1048 NLA-games.

According to the Tages-Anzeiger, the Lions started negotiations with their captain at the end of November. This season so far, Seger has appeared in 29 NLA-games for Zurich and managed to put up eight points (two goals, six assists). (bsc)
