Tschantré's number "12" jersey will be lifted up to the rafters of the Tissot Arena. So far, Olivier Anken's number "30" was the only one hanging up there.

"We have discussed this in within the Board of Directors, and after 30 seconds it was decided that we are going to lift Mathieu's jersey up to the rafters," EHC Biel's CEO Daniel Villard tells the Bieler Tagblatt.

Due to COVID-19 and all the restrictions, however, the corresponding honoring ceremony will be postponed to next season, when hopefully all is back to normal. There would currently be a lack of spectators and emotions to provide a worthy framework for this, Villard explains.

Mathieu Tschantré, who retired this Spring, played his entire career with the Seelanders and made his debut with the first team in the 2000-01 season. In 2008, he was named captain of the team and has remained in this position ever since. Overall, he appeared in a total of 916 games for EHCB, recording 178 goals and 199 assists.
