The club and coach have reached a mutual agreement that it is time for a change in order for the team to take the next step and have therefore decided to end their cooperation at the end of the 2020-21 season. The Lakers coaching staff will continue its work until the end of the season, with the declared goal being the Pre-Playoffs.
Tomlinson is among the longest-serving coaches in the league. His biggest success with the team came in 2017-18, when the Lakers won the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup, became Swiss League Champions, and subsequently were promoted back to the National League.
It had already been announced that Tomlinson's assistant coach Niklas Gällstedt will leave the organization this summer and take a position with EV Zug. The future of Jeff Tomlinson and second assistant coach Sven Berger is unclear.
