The 29-year-old forward confirmed to Blick on Wednesday that he had told SC Bern's management he would not extend his stay in the capital city. This after first reports of his departure were made by the Tages-Anzeiger on Tuesday.

Bodenmann will thus leave the Bears after three seasons and return to the canton of Zürich. In 17 games for SC Bern this season, Bodenmann put up eleven points (four goals, seven assists). In 93 appearances for the Swiss national team, he scored 19 goals and twelve assists.
