Several scouts of the Habs are apparently following Haas' progress and watched him play at the Karjala Cup, where he played for the Swiss national team.
Haas' agent Jaro Tuma confirmed to Watson a couple of weeks ago that the Flames have actively observed his client for a long period of time. According to the report, the 25-year-old, however, would only take the chance to play overseas if he were to be offered a one-way contract.
